1. Provider and contact

CEA IT-Services
Owner: Can Emre Aktas
Levinstraße 153
45356 Essen, Germany

Email: info@cea-it.de
Support: get-link-up.app/en/support.html

In the following, the provider is referred to as "Link Up", "we" or "us".

2. Scope

These general terms and conditions of use apply to the Link Up mobile app, the associated online services and all features provided through them. Differing terms of users apply only where we have expressly agreed to them.

By registering you confirm that you accept these terms. Information on the processing of personal data is in our privacy policy.

3. Registration and account

Full use requires an account. You must provide truthful information, use a working email address and protect your credentials. An account may not be sold, transferred or shared without permission.

Registration is intended from the age of 13. If the law of your country of residence requires the consent of your parent or guardian for use, you must obtain it before registering. We may request proof of age where there is legitimate doubt.

You are responsible for activity that takes place through your account to the extent you are accountable for it. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.

4. What Link Up offers

Link Up helps users find city groups, share posts and stories, chat with each other, form subgroups and plan meetups. The scope and design of individual features may vary by region, platform, app version or plan.

Link Up facilitates contact and provides technical tools. We are neither a tour operator nor the organiser of user-created meetups. We do not automatically verify the identity, background, intentions or personal details of every user.

The basic version may be offered free of charge. Certain features, filters or usage limits may be reserved for Premium.

5. Your content and rights of use

You retain the rights to text, photos, videos, audio, comments and other content you upload. You confirm that you hold the necessary rights and that uploading does not infringe the rights of others.

So that we can display, transmit, technically process, store and moderate your content within Link Up, you grant us for the duration of provision a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable right to use the content solely for operating, securing and further developing the service. This includes technically necessary format changes, thumbnails and delivery to authorised users.

You can delete content using the features provided. The right of use generally ends upon deletion, unless backup copies, open reports, legal obligations or legal claims require limited further processing.

We may use feedback, ideas and suggestions for improvement free of charge for further development, provided they contain no confidential information.

6. Community rules

Link Up is meant to make encounters easier. You must therefore not publish content or take actions that:

  • are unlawful, fraudulent, threatening, glorify violence or are discriminatory,
  • harass, intimidate, stalk or sexualise others, or push them into dangerous behaviour,
  • involve sexual content with minors or the exploitation of persons,
  • disclose other people's private data, images or locations without authorisation,
  • infringe copyright, trademark, personality or other rights,
  • contain spam, unauthorised advertising, pyramid schemes or automated mass contact,
  • include malware, manipulation attempts or circumvention of technical protection measures,
  • impersonate identities or misrepresent the origin of content,
  • initiate trade in weapons, drugs or other prohibited goods.

You may not scrape data automatically, create accounts automatically, circumvent security checks or place load on the app outside the interfaces provided.

7. Meetups and personal safety

Meetups are created by users and carried out on their own responsibility. Details of time, place, available spots and attendees may change. Check important information yourself and use public meeting points where appropriate.

You decide for yourself whether and whom you meet. Tell someone you trust about your plan, stay aware of your surroundings, and contact local emergency services if you are in immediate danger. Link Up guarantees neither the attendance of other participants nor the safety, suitability or quality of a meetup.

Anyone creating a meetup must not provide misleading information and must clearly communicate any legitimate safety or capacity rules.

8. Reports, blocking and moderation

You can report users and content through the app and block other users. We may review reported or otherwise conspicuous content and take appropriate measures. These include restricting visibility, removing content, issuing a warning, temporary suspension and permanent termination of an account.

In deciding, we take into account the nature, severity, frequency and context of the breach as well as the rights and safety of those involved. In urgent cases we may act immediately. Where legally required and practically possible, we will inform about material measures and available complaint options.

We are not obliged to check all content before publication. Statutory obligations to process notices and to cooperate with authorities remain unaffected.

9. Premium subscriptions

Premium may unlock additional features or higher usage limits. Price, term, trial period, renewal and scope of services are shown in the respective app store before purchase. The contract for payment processing is concluded in accordance with the terms of Apple or Google.

Subscriptions renew as displayed in the app store unless cancelled in time via the account settings of the relevant store. Cancellation, refunds and payment problems are generally handled through the app store where the purchase was made.

Statutory consumer rights remain unaffected. For digital services the right of withdrawal may lapse under the statutory conditions if you expressly consent to immediate performance and confirm the loss of the right of withdrawal. The notices displayed by the app store at the time of purchase also apply.

We may continue to develop Premium features. Material services already paid for will not be withdrawn during the current billing period without objective reason.

10. Term, termination and account deletion

The free usage agreement runs for an indefinite period. You can end it at any time by deleting your account in the app settings, or alternatively by contacting support. A Premium subscription must additionally be cancelled in the app store; deleting your account does not automatically end billing running at the store.

We may terminate the agreement without notice for good cause, in particular in the case of serious or repeated breaches, security risks, fraud or legal obligation. For less serious breaches we will generally first choose a proportionate measure or warning.

Access to the account ends when the agreement ends. Legally required retention, moderation records, and rights to content already lawfully shared or further processed by other users remain unaffected to the extent permitted.

11. Availability and changes

We aim for reliable operation but do not owe uninterrupted availability. Maintenance, security measures, technical faults, force majeure or outages of external services may restrict use.

We may change, add to or discontinue features where there is an objective reason, such as security, technical development, legal requirements or low usage. In the case of material adverse changes we will give reasonable advance notice where this is possible and reasonable.

12. Liability

We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, under the German Product Liability Act, and to the extent of expressly assumed guarantees.

In the case of slightly negligent breach of material contractual obligations, liability is limited to the foreseeable damage typical for this type of contract. Material contractual obligations are those whose fulfilment makes proper performance of the contract possible in the first place and on whose observance users may regularly rely. Otherwise liability for slight negligence is excluded to the extent permitted by law.

We are not liable for the conduct of other users, the conduct of private meetups or the accuracy of user-generated information, unless we are at fault ourselves. Mandatory statutory liability remains unaffected.

13. Rights in the app and brand

Software, design, trademarks, text and other components of Link Up are legally protected. You receive a personal, revocable, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to use the app as intended for the duration of the agreement.

You may not copy, sell, rent, decompile or modify the app unless expressly permitted by law. Notices of protective rights must not be removed.

14. Changes and final provisions

We may adapt these terms where laws, case law, features or technical processes change. We will inform about material changes in text form or within the app. Where your consent is required, we will request it separately.

The law of the Federal Republic of Germany applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. For consumers this choice of law applies only insofar as it does not deprive them of the protection of mandatory provisions of the state of their habitual residence. Statutory places of jurisdiction remain unaffected.

The former EU online dispute resolution platform was discontinued on 20 July 2025, so no outdated link is provided here. We are neither obliged nor willing to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board. This matches the statement in the imprint.

Should any provision be invalid, the remaining provisions remain effective. The statutory provisions take the place of the invalid provision.

This English version is provided for convenience. In case of discrepancies, the German version prevails.
